2. Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
| Emissions Scope | Baseline Year (2024) — tCO2e |
|---|---|
| Scope 1 (Direct): Company facilities & combustion | 0.00 |
| Scope 2 (Indirect): Purchased electricity for office operations | 1.42 |
| Scope 3 (Selected Categories): Business travel, employee commuting, waste generated, and upstream energy | 4.85 |
| Total Baseline Emissions | 6.27 tCO2e |
3. Current Emissions Reporting (2025/2026)
| Emissions Scope | Current Year (2025) — tCO2e |
|---|---|
| Scope 1: Direct emissions | 0.00 |
| Scope 2: Purchased electricity (100% Renewable Tariff) | 0.84 |
| Scope 3: Business travel, remote operations & downstream supply | 3.10 |
| Total Current Emissions | 3.94 tCO2e (37.1% reduction) |
4. Emissions Reduction Targets
In order to continue our progress toward Net Zero, we have projected that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 1.50 tCO2e by 2030. This represents an anticipated reduction of 76% from our baseline year.
- 2026: Maintain emissions below 3.50 tCO2e through remote-first client delivery.
- 2028: Achieve 60% reduction through green cloud workload optimization.
- 2030: Reach 1.50 tCO2e with carbon-neutral procurement and certified offset schemes.
- 2035: Full Net Zero carbon neutrality across all operational scopes.
5. Carbon Reduction Projects & Green Cloud Initiatives
The following carbon management measures are actively implemented across Edgway Limited:
- Microsoft Cloud Sustainability: We engineer Dynamics 365 and Azure environments utilizing Microsoft's renewable-powered UK and European data centres, helping our clients reduce their server carbon footprint by up to 93% compared to on-premises servers.
- Remote-First Advisory Delivery: Client discovery workshops, BAaaS architecture reviews, and sprint ceremonies are conducted virtually by default, minimizing unnecessary rail and road travel.
- Public Transport Travel Policy: When on-site client presence is necessary (e.g. at government or client operational headquarters), consultants prioritize low-emission UK rail transit.
- Paperless Governance: All corporate contracts, Statements of Work (SoW), timesheets, and invoicing are 100% digital via secure cloud signatures.
- Circular IT Hardware Lifecycle: Energy Star certified equipment is deployed with extended lifecycles and WEEE-certified ethical recycling.
